Item Description
14x22" thin cardboard window card w/"Tilghman Press" at bottom center. Promoting a concert "Sat., Dec. 28th" at "Shrine Auditorium" featuring "Ray Charles His Orchestra And The Realets." Headline at top reads "An Unforgettable Musical Experience! ...In Concert" w/additional text in field "The Most Creative Musical Giant Of This Generation!" A .75x1" stain w/a .5" puncture repaired on reverse affecting the "S" in "Charles," a .25" hole in the field below the arch of the "C" in "Charles" and a tack hole in the margin at top center. Otherwise only moderate age toning at edges. Fine. This window card is among the most outstanding single artist designs for Charles and promotes a concert during his commercial peak. In the spring of 1963 "Take These Chains From My Heart" hit the Top 10 pop charts and that fall "Busted" would reach Top 5. Charles' legacy continues to grow as each generation of music fans discover his encompassing works.
