Item Description
Extensive lot of correspondence between Darth Vader actor David Prowse (1935-2020) and female fan Erma Stacy. Correspondence includes 10 letters/notes as well as signed "Darth Vader - Dave Prowse/The International Dave Prowse Fan Club" fan club material. Material ranges in date from March 31, 1978 to Jan. 28, 1982. Lot includes many handwritten notes/letters and signed typed letters as well as signed postcards and signed fan club material. Notes often intimate a personal relationship between Prowse and Stacy, w/several mentions to meeting up, phone calls and letters received as well as letters signed "Your Dave" or "Love, Dave." Prowse details upcoming projects and notes his work/appearance schedule in a number of letters. Star Wars is of course mentioned and of note, one handwritten letter (on "letter-card" board) dated March 8, 1979 mentions "Star Wars 2 Starts For Me Next Week." Another typed letter appears on "Dave Prowse Fitness Centre" letterhead and reads in part "...Sorry Not To Have Been In Contact Before Now But As You Can Guess I Am Up To My Eyes In Star Wars 2..." and in regards to his busy schedule, "The One Consolation Is That The Darth Vader Part Is Going To Be So Much Bigger And Better Than In The First Film..." and goes on to mention The Empire Strikes Back by name. Another fan club card w/handwritten note mentions "Just Had News That 'Revenge Of The Jedi' Has Been Put Back From Sept. To  January Due To Complications With The Model Makers." Letters have been folded as mailed and envelopes have wear as mailed/opened. Conditions vary, but most letters are VF to Exc. Interesting insight into the original actor to portray Darth Vader and his dedication to his fans. Comes with Hake's COA.
