Item numbers 1 though 954 in auction 191
Item Description
1" brass listed in DeWitt/Sullivan as 1840-28 but the reverse of this is an unlisted variety. Front has military bust of him with his full name and the date of 1841. Reverse has eagle at center with his beak holding a scroll reading "Go It Tip" above and with a scroll below reading "Come It Tyler." DeWitt lists numerous reverse varieties but not this example which shows a spray in the eagle's talon with one berry above and none below. Extreme right rim edge has barely noticeable 1/32" hairline through the metal. Luster is close to 100%. Rare.
