Item Description
15/16" brass listed in DeWitt/Sullivan as 1840-38. Obverse has naked head of Harrison with surrounding text "William H. Harrison, The Hero & Statesman." Reverse reads "Candidate Of The People" enclosing a log cabin scene with much more detail than the typical log cabin image. Design includes window and door with latch string, shrubs to the left and right, pine tree left, chimney right with smoke left, cider barrel left, bee hive right, plow to the front. A bit dark in tone but only minimal wear to the high points of the designs. Fine and rarely offered.
