Item Description
19.5x23.5" frame w/8x13" document. Adams, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, was a critical founding father once called "Truly The Man Of The Revolution" by Thomas Jefferson. He emerged as a major figure opposing the Stamp Act and a leader in the events leading to the Boston Tea Party. He became acting Gov. in 1793 and was elected to the position the following year as a Jeffersonian Republican. The year this document was signed Adams received 15 electoral votes in the Presidential election. This document is boldly signed "Samuel Adams" in black quill pen ink at upper left just below affixed state seal retaining original ribbons. Counter signed at conclusion "John Avery, Secretary." Text of note "...Edward Pulling Esq. Is A Justice Of The Peace, And That Edward Pulling And Isaac Osgood Esq Are Justices Of The Peace And Quorum And Edward Norris Is a Notary Public All Within The County Of Essex..." Vertical and horizontal fold w/minor short tears at edges and only faint age toning at edges. Extremely Fine. An impressive document made even more so by custom museum quality framing featuring an etching of Adams. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
