Item Description
3.5x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 14 team members in full uniform along with a brigade of military personnel dressed in full military attire with team banner identifying "1921 Baseball Champions AF'ing" posed on a ballfield. Identification below photo reads "5th Inf. Andernash 9, Sept. 13, 1921". Interestingly, an African American gentleman appears at bottom of the photo as a team mascot. Photographer's stamp on back reads "Lindstedt and Zimmerman, Coblenz am Rhine, Kaiserin-Augusta-Ring, Artistic Photographs, Medal for Photographic Work Tel.". The combination of baseball and military always makes for a highly collectible item. Image quality of the photograph is superb. There are no significant condition issues to note. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
