Item Description
10.25x13x2 deep box contains Funtime Playwear Superman Play Suit. ©1954 National Comics Publications Inc. Box has corner tip wear w/some creases and scattered rippling to surface paper. Aged original store price sticker on side panel. Box notes size 10 outfit and is Fine overall. Playsuit consists of three pieces of cotton fabric w/thin vinyl belt w/metal buckle. Shirt has silk-screened "S" chest emblem and three of four original plastic buttons on back. Cloth tag at collar notes shirt as size 4. Silk-screening shows some lt. wear as folded. Cape has large silk-screened "Superman" name and full body image. This also shows some wear as folded. Cape strings have moderate aging. Fabric remains free of any tears/pulls and is Fine/VF overall. Comes w/7x9.25" four-page "Superman's Buddy" comic book. This 1954 NCP comic was later issued in 1958 in two colors only. Comic shows moderate handling wear w/.5" tear below title and is VG overall. Rare publication sought out by comic collectors.
