Item Description
9-3/8x11" 16-page program issued for the 1921 World Series between the New York Giants and New York Yankees. Cover features photo portraits of each club's respective manager, John McGraw (HOF) and Miller Huggins (HOF), while interior pages include photos of league and team officials, as well as portraits of 24 members of both the Yankees and Giants. Giants HOFers include - Dave Bancroft, George Kelly, Frankie Frisch, Ross Youngs and Casey Stengel while Yankees HOFers include - Babe Ruth, Home Run Baker and Waite Hoyt. Because both teams called the Polo Grounds home in 1921, the programs for all of the games, published by Harry M. Stevens, were identical in design. This is scored for the first game of the series (just Yankees page) which Yankees won 3-0. The Series went to the Giants, 5 games to 3. Program has vertical crease through center and centerfold is loose at bottom staple. Scattered handling wear. Fine overall. A classic World Series program; just two years away from the start of the Yankees dynasty.
