Item Description
26.5x41" one-sheet movie poster, released in 1992 by Killian Enterprises for the fifteenth anniversary of the release of Star Wars. Poster utilizes the design painted by the Brothers Hildebrandt in 1977; one of the most iconic movie posters in the history of cinema for the film. Later rebranded as Star Wars: A New Hope, the movie completely changed the landscape of the film industry and became a pop culture icon, spawning subsequent films, TV projects, toys and other merchandise. Many of these products bear the Hildebrandt painting as a marketing logo. Poster has been signed in black felt tip pen by both Greg Hildebrandt and Tim Hildebrandt (1939-2006). Poster has been wonderfully remarqued in main poster image area w/original art in silver felt tip pen by Greg Hildebrandt, w/portraits of Chewbacca at upper left, Boba Fett at upper right, Darth Vader at lower left, Yoda at bottom center and The Emperor at lower right. This is the first time Greg has drawn The Emperor as a remarque. Greg has signed again in silver felt tip pen between Darth Vader and Yoda. Poster has been rolled and is Exc. An exceptional piece for Star Wars and art collectors and one that is tied directly to the artists who were involved w/Star Wars since the start.
