Item Description
9.5x12" ink on bond paper w/image size of 4x7.5". Among the first sketches done during the initial concept stage for what would become "The Outer Space Men" action figures series. Depicts a character very different from any that were actually produced. This is a horned and bearded creature w/bulky body and webbed feet. He holds a ray gun in one hand. Just to the right of the image, sheet has been signed and dated "Mel Birnkrant 1967." Sheet has lt. handling wear w/.5" tear on bottom margin. Exc. Also comes w/manilla envelope w/hand-written text in Mel's hand "Original Concept Drawing For Outer Space Men 1967." This incredible, one-of-a-kind original art is the only such sketch from this classic action figure series to ever be offered to the collecting community.
