Item Description
9.5x12" ink on bond paper w/image size of 4x7.5". Among the first sketches done during the initial concept stage for what would become "The Outer Space Men" action figures series. Depicts a character very different from any that were actually produced. This is a horned and bearded creature w/bulky body and webbed feet. He holds a ray gun in one hand. Just to the right of the image, sheet has been signed and dated "Mel Birnkrant 1967." Sheet has lt. handling wear w/.5" tear on bottom margin. Exc. Also comes w/manilla envelope w/hand-written text in Mel's hand "Original Concept Drawing For Outer Space Men 1967." This incredible, one-of-a-kind original art is the only such sketch from this classic action figure series to ever be offered to the collecting community. From the archives of toy designer Mel Birnkrant, creator of the Outer Space Men and comes w/signed COA.
