Item Description
Stemming from the Free John Sinclair movement that drew John Lennon and Yoko Ono to the John Sinclair Freedom Rally on Dec 10, 1971, this 17x22" poster references the short period of time Michigan, had technically legalized marijuana. Three days after the concert featuring the famous Beatles songwriter, Sinclair was freed. Three months later, the state's marijuana laws were declared unconstitutional and w/no new laws in place, marijuana was effectively legalized for about three weeks in March 1972 before new laws could be passed. Poster features marijuana design by Greg Sobran w/large "Re-Legalize Marijuana! - Register To Vote - Sign The Petition - Vote Free Marijuana" text. Poster was printed by Rainbow Graphics for the Michigan Marijuana Initiative. Poster has some corner tip wear w/.25" spot of staining along upper left margin. Still VF overall.
