Item Description
5x8" sketch paper has black ink head sketch of Alley Oop by Dave Graue (1926-2001). Dave Graue was hired by V.T. Hamlin as an assistant writer on the classic caveman strip Alley Oop in 1950. When Hamlin retired from failing eyesight in 1971, Graue took over all art/writing duties on the strip. In 1991, he was assisted by Jack Bender, who drew the strip from Graue's plots until Graue's retirement in Aug. 2001. Only four months later, Graue was killed in a car accident. Lt. aging/wear.
