Item Description
1.5x2.75". The 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1 set consists of 120 cards. Each colorized card shows an artistic rendering of the athlete with his name, position and team denoted in a white border area at the bottom of each card. Several players exist in more than one pose or background color, adding to the difficulty in compiling a master set. Cards carry advertising backs. Mordecai Brown pitcher and manager during the first two decades of the 20th century (known as the "dead-ball era"). Due to a farm-machinery accident in his youth (April 17, 1888), Brown lost parts of two fingers on his right hand, and in the process gained a colorful nickname of "Three Finger" Brown. He was a two time World Series Champion in 1908 & 1909. Mordecai Brown was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1949.
