Item Description
1.5x2.75". The 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1 set consists of 120 cards. Each colorized card shows an artistic rendering of the athlete with his name, position and team denoted in a white border area at the bottom of each card. Several players exist in more than one pose or background color, adding to the difficulty in compiling a master set. Cards carry advertising backs. Donie Bush was a baseball player, manager, team owner, and scout. He was active in professional baseball from 1905 until his death in 1972. He was recognized as one of the best defensive shortstops of the dead-ball era. He had more putouts, assists, and total chances than any other shortstop of the era, and his 1914 totals of 425 putouts and 969 chances are still American League records for shortstops (and the major league record for putouts). He also led the American League in assists by a shortstop on five occasions and holds the major league record with nine triple plays.
