Item Description
1.25". From a set of seven. This is by far the key button in the set. Lefty portrait photo at center w/text "Wheaties/O'Doul's-Seals/Knot Hole Gang." Others in this set were for different PCL teams but featured text only, this is the only photo button in the set. At this time, Lefty was winding down his playing career w/a minor league stint in San Francisco, having fashioned a career .349 batting average in the Major Leagues, one of the top five career averages of all-time. Also notable that Joe DiMaggio spent a couple of seasons w/the Seals prior to beginning his legendary HOF career w/the New York Yankees. Trace of oxidation to the metal back. Front has lt. wear upon magnification but remains bright and glossy. VF. California Button Collection.
