Item Description
Signed check is 4.5x7". Engraving is 8x11". Check is dated May 10, 1813. Amount is $187.50. Moderate edge wear and handling. VF. Engraving published in 1861 by Johnson Fry & Co. Publishers. Engraving has only light surface wear. Exc. Clinton was mayor of New York City from 1811 until 1815. He also served as Governor of New York from 1817-1822 and from 1825-1828. He ran against Madison for the presidency in 1812, losing a close election. Comes w/JSA LOA.
