Item Description
5.5x8.5" On "William Belden & Co." stationery. Dated October 9, 1878. Letter wishes Hayes a "hearty congratulations" on the promising prospects in the midterm elections. Note penned in Gould's hand. Text on verso reading "For The President" indicating that President Hayes had also seen the letter. Some adhesive marks on reverse. Front has only light handling wear. Extremely Fine. Comes w/JSA LOA.
