Item Description
8.5x11" paper sheets and first four issues have cut-in sheets w/copy of art for the Dr. Strange portion of Strange Tales (Marvel, 1963-64) featuring early appearances of Dr. Strange w/Mordo, Nightmare and Thor by Steve Ditko that are hand-colored as color guides for the published reprint hard cover Marvel Masterworks books. Lot includes Dr. Strange stories from 13 issues of Strange Tales issues #110-124. Story size varies from 5-9 pages each. Lot includes first appearance and origin. All stories complete with exception of four pages (166-p.1, 117-p.2,5, 118-p.6). No covers. Color artist on reprint issues was Andy Yanchus. Paper pages w/"Marvel Masterworks #23 Dr. Strange" written/stamped at top and marked up w/new color break notations. Used in Marvel Masterworks #23 that reprinted Strange Tales #110-111 and 114-141 (December 1992). Lt. aging/handling wear and overall clean. Overall displays VF.
