Item Description
7x9.25x1-3/8" deep wooden base has Dark Horse cold-cast resin model kit depicting the Creature from the Black Lagoon swimming underwater, w/base featuring human skull and marine animal skeletons. Details include coral and kelp as well as piranha and eel. Kit was sculpted by Academy Award-winning special effects artist/director Chris Walas and released in 1994. Kit was stunningly built and painted and detailed by famed comic character sculptor Randy Bowen, who started as a garage kit creator and quickly became one of the top sculptors in the industry. Front of base has attached "The Creature From The Black Lagoon - Sculpted By Chris Walas - Painted by Randy Bowen" brass nameplate. This very limited piece was created for just two recipients as special gifts from Bowen. Underside of base has been inscribed/signed in gold paint pen by Bowen, who signed "Beast Wishes... Randy Bowen," adding "2/2" edition number. Lt. dust soil. One long piece of seaweed is missing from the front side of kit. Still displays Exc. As impressive as any figural Creature item you will find, further enhanced by being hand-painted by a master pop culture artist.
