Item Description
13-1/8x19.75" double-matted display contains 12.75x18.5" sheet of paper which has pen and ink illustration of bowtie-wearing kitten seated in chair using tin can phone line with mouse. Remnants of original pencil sketches can be seen. Best known for his "Wizard of Oz" illustrations, Denslow also illustrated other L. Frank Baum books and other childrens books. We presume this book to be from "Denslow's Three Little Kittens" first published in 1904. Piece is signed by Denslow with his typical seahorse flourish in lower right-hand corner. Framed, would make for a N. Mint display.
