Item Description
Sizes range from 1.25" to 3.5". All feature unauthorized use of images or slogans inspired by the popularity of the movie, most from the first years of release of A New Hope, 1977-78. All saw very limited production. All are from the famed button collection of Marshall Levin, who was not only a collector but a button historian and he made notations on some of the metal backs as to year made, number produced, etc. Most feature a play on the famous phrase "May The Force Be With You" some in a promotional way, others in a humorous vein. Three feature an image of R2-D2, one a riff on the famous droid, and one w/Darth Vader's head. All are Exc. to NM. Buttons include -

- Pendulum Press Has Star Wars/Contemporary Motivators. 1978. 1,000 made.
- May The Ice Be With You/Lake Placid I.S.I.A. Team Competition Jan. 27-29, 1978. Design includes skate blade and galaxy bkg.
- May The Farce Be With You/Laughing Keeps You Happy/Unicorn City. These were made for a NYC gift shop and feature trippy image at center of a Unicorn w/spiral horn as well as an eye w/long lashes. Three brightly colored variants, each w/notation on back as to when they were made: Pink - Sept. 1977, Yellow - Aug. 1978, Green - Sept. 1979.
- FAMMS Is Flying On Course With The Help From The FORCE. Image of R2-D2. Pair of buttons. One button has green text "FAMMS/FORCE" AND accents on R2-D2's dome. This is a production button w/notation on back "US Navy Fleet Material Support Office/Mechanicsburg, PA 3/78. 1,000 made. The other is w/o green coloring and is noted on back as a proof, "No Green Plate" and one of just two made and possibly the only remaining example.
