Item Description
10x14.25" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Flash Gordon Vol. 2 #41, which has the story "Ming El Implacable". Published in Spain c. 1981 Ediciones Vertice. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge and showing original composition of Flash Gordon in caped uniform being chased by armed soldiers. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains bright and clean. Displays VF. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring one of sci-fi's timeless characters and is unsigned by artist. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for. Printed issue reprints daily strips.
