Item Description
4-3/8x6.75" reply card features photo of Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini (1867-1957), renowned for his intensity, his perfectionism, his ear for orchestral detail and sonority and his eidetic memory. He was at various times the music director of La Scala in Milan and the New York Philharmonic. Later in his career, he was appointed the first music director of the NBC Symphony Orchestra (1937-1954). Reply card mentions donations for The Philharmonic-Symphony Society Campaign Fund and has been signed by Toscanini in black ink, w/Toscanini adding "New York - April 12 - 1934" notation. Card has three vintage postal stamps (from Niger, the US and Italy) on back. Card has evenly aged and shows some handling wear w/heavy crease at top crossing printed text. Fine/VF overall. Comes w/JSA LOA.
