Item Description
4.75x5-3/8" autograph album page has been signed in black ink by MLB catcher, coach and manager Wilbert "Uncle Robbie" Robinson (1864-1934), who played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1886-1890), Baltimore Orioles (1890-1899) and St. Louis Cardinals (1900) before moving on to manage the Orioles (1902) and Brooklyn Dodgers (1914-1931, a period in which the team was affectionately known as the Brooklyn Robins after their manager). Robinson was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1945 by the Old-Timers Committee. Below his signature, Robinson has added "Marlin Springs, Texas" notation, as signature was likely obtained at spring training held there. Small moisture spot after "Springs" name and page has aged w/right bottom margins having more moderate aging. VF overall. Robinson's signature is quite elusive to pre-War baseball autograph collectors. Comes w/JSA LOA.
