Item Description
15.25x26" Masonite board w/mixed media original art for front cover to VHS cassette box for 1987 release of 1926 silent historical war film directed by James Cruze and starring Charles Farrell, Esther Ralston, Wallace Beery and George Bancroft. Art was created by noted illustrator Charles David de Mar, an artist known for his fine art film illustrations, which were occasionally utilized for home media release such as the one offered here. de Mar depicts Farrell and Ralston at the helm of ship. Art is unsigned, but the artist has boldly written his name on back of board along w/"Nov. 1986" date. Art has acetate overlay and two heavily aged vellum overlays (which show obvious wear) attached at top. Art displays Exc.
