Item Description
During the 1990s, Universal Studios sought to cash-in on their Universal Monsters brand, making a concerted effort to push their beloved horror icons as films like Dracula and Frankenstein saw their 60th anniversaries in 1991. Everything from VHS tapes, USPS stamps, action figures and toys were marketed, as were snack foods and beer. A special logo featuring six of Universal's most iconic Monsters - Wolf Man, Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Mummy - was created and appeared on many of these products and advertising campaigns. Offered here is 17.5x20" Crescent Scanner Board w/highly detailed mixed media original art depicting Dracula in bkg. w/his cape spread wide while The Bride and Frankenstein's Monster stand by laboratory table. Art is circular in design and has image area measuring 12.25". Of note, each character's face is exact in design as to how each character appeared on the 1991-1996 Universal Monsters logo. Illustration board has some corner tip wear, but art displays NM w/acetate and paper overlays attached at top. Extremely well done Monster art.
