Item Description
5x7.25" waxed paper for a most coveted non-sport set, ACC# R144. Wolverine only produced one other issue, 1937's "Believe It Or Not" which is ACC# R21 (see next lot). Tag line associated w/these cards was "True Stories From The Files Of One Of The World's Greatest Collectors Of Strange Tales." Set deals w/some truly strange and macabre subject matter. Wrapper art similar to that of card #3 in the set "The Fight With The Shark." Moderate scattered creases as originally folded. Has a 1.5" long sliver missing from top center edge. Few pin holes when held to light. Still bright and clean overall w/strong color. Fine. A rare and desirable wrapper.
