Item Description
8.5x11" photocopy (xerographic print) on thin yellow stock produced before the show. PNW flyer promoting a concert in Seattle, WA at the Vogue on July 4, 1989 featuring Mother Love Bone. Art signed in print "Ament '88" at center of right side. Handling wear most notably along right side and "1989" ink inscription on verso. Extremely Fine. Formed from Seattle punk and early grunge bands Green River, Malfunkshun and Ten Minute Warning- Mother Love Bone came on the scene in 1988 quickly establishing themselves behind front man Andy Wood's outlandish stage personality. The group also included future Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. They were among the first 'grunge' bands to be signed to a major label deal inking the contract in Nov. '88 w/PolyGram. They released the EP Shine and on the eve of release of their full-length debut, Apple, front man Wood died of a heroin overdose. The loss of Wood represents one of the major 'what if's' of rock 'n roll history- had Wood lived would there be a Pearl Jam? If Mother Love Bone met their lofty expectations would grunge legends Nirvana have had the same cultural impact? Whatever the answers the reality remains that Wood's impact on the Seattle scene was enormous and his legacy endures.
