Item Description
2.25". No maker. Spring pin holds ribbon w/attached large 2.5" long stuffed leather catcher's mitt w/stitched detailing. Button design includes pirate portrait (of note to completists a similar but smaller 1.75" NL Champs button was made  which has a different pirate image). All is Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.

The 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates won the National League pennant with a final record of 95-59 under manager Danny Murtaugh. The offense and defense were both led by two future National Baseball Hall of Fame electees, Roberto Clemente and Bill Mazeroski. The Bucs would go on to win the 1960 World Series over the New York Yankees in seven thrilling games.
