Item Description
9.5" tall cold-cast figurine of Ted Williams (1918-2002) in mid-swing, his bat (w/"Louisville Slugger" label) being a separate piece. Produced by Gartlan USA, Inc. in ©1989, underside has foil label noting this as "Ted Williams - 9 - 'The Kid'." Issued in a limited edition of 2,654 (Williams' career base hit total) w/250 artist's proofs.  Base features 7/8x3.25" cardstock attachment that Williams has hand-signed in black felt tip pen. Signature is NM. Foil label has been hand-numbered"1539" in black felt tip pen. Figurine has some scattered aging and is VF/Exc. overall. Comes w/JSA LOA.

Ted Williams played his entire 19-year MLB career (1939-1960, primarily as a left fielder) w/the Boston Red Sox; his career being interrupted by military service during World War II and the Korean War. Nicknamed "Teddy Ballgame, The Kid, The Splendid Splinter" and "The Thumper," Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history and to date is the last player to hit over .400 in a season. Some of his many career highlights include being a 19-time All-Star, two-time MVP and two-time Triple Crown winner. Williams was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 1966.
