1-9/16x4-7/16". The complete set of matchbooks consisted of 416 examples. These matchbook covers were printed over a period of three years by the Diamond Matchbook Company. In addition to baseball, this company created matchbook covers featuring football and hockey players as well.

Jay Hanna "Dizzy" Dean, also known as Jerome Herman Dean, was an American professional baseball pitcher. During his Major League Baseball (MLB) career, he played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Browns. Some career highlights include being a four time All-Star, a four time MLB Strikeouts leader and a World Series Champion in 1934. "Dizzy" Dean was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1953.
