Item Description
Window box contains Optimus Prime (Autobot Commander). Hasbro, ©1984. This is early variety w/metal plates inside Optimus Prime's trailer. This is a carry-over from the Diaclone line, which featured metal plates for Convoy's pilot figures (which had magnets in their feet) to adhere to. Other Diaclone holdovers include "bloated" gas pump and nozzle w/solid hose, "bloated" rifle and fists, gray (instead of blue) roller and gray (instead of black) missiles. Standard Trademark logo (not error box), which is much rarer than the Registered logo. Box has been opened at left/right w/color breaks to hinges. Remnants of price stickers on header card which has corner creases. Header flap has been folded over. Scuff line to window along lower trailer edge and pair of small impression marks to area over cab window. 1.75" tear to top left corner, 2" tear at bottom left corner and 5.25" hinge tear at right. Corner creasing at upper left front corner. Box is Good/VG overall. Original paperwork is complete w/baggie. Partially used sticker sheet. Stickers have been applied to interior of trailer, but sticker sheet for Optimus Prime figure remains unused. Optimus Prime figure shows scattered paint wear to raised portions of metal areas w/rippling to pinstripe sticker on arms; driver's side having since curled up. Obvious wear to metallized smokestacks. Fine/VF. Trailer shows scattered surface wear but does not feature any of the typically seen defects (cracks) trailer. VF overall. Among the most desirable Series 1 Transformers toys.
