Item Description
Window box contains Optimus Prime (Autobot Commander). Hasbro, ©1984. Standard Trademark logo box (not error box), which is much rarer than the Registered logo. This is early variety w/metal plates inside Optimus Prime's trailer. This is a carry-over from the Diaclone line, which featured metal plates for Convoy's pilot figures (which had magnets in their feet) to adhere to. Other Diaclone holdovers include "bloated" gas pump and nozzle w/solid hose, "bloated" rifle and fists, gold/gray (instead of blue) roller and gray (instead of black) missiles. Partial store price sticker on right side flap. Box has been opened at both ends w/color breaks along both hinges. Right side inner flap mostly loose, still attached but barely. Header card has been folded over w/heavy crease and creasing at lower left corner, which has 1.25' corner tear to top left corner at back where box meets header. Header has three pieces of tape, once used to secure header to rest of box after being folded. Top front edge of box has two corresponding pieces of tape w/surface paper lift from removal of third piece of tape. Box shows scattered edge/corner tip wear w/creases and window has 1.5" crack w/3/8x7/8" hole by front corner of trailer. Styrofoam insert present. Box is VG overall. Stickers have been applied (missing used sticker sheet). Paperwork present (missing original baggie). Ripple to large trailer sticker on one side as applied. Driver's side of cab shows some edge wear/color loss to silver stickers. Toy o/w shows little wear and is VF/Exc. Among the most desirable Series 1 Transformers toys.
