Item Description
11x28.75", thin paper sign w/tin scroll at top. Advertising Colchester (Connecticut) Rubber and Cloth Tennis Shoes represented by Sage & Company, New England Agents. Sporting a rubberized cloth for flexible work shoes or sports, the scenes include rowing, bicyclist on a Penny Farthing, tennis players and a baseball player in uniform that reads "CRC" for Colchester Rubber Cloth. Very early reference to sports equipment, this company was famously bought by Keds in 1893. Missing lower scroll w/archival tape repairs to lower right. Edge chip top and bottom right. VG.
