Item Description
The 1907-09 American League champion Detroit Tigers are featured on this set of advertising buttons promoting Morton's Pennant Winner Bread. Made by Whitehead & Hoag. The 1.25" buttons have black and white player photos surrounded by a yellow border. A Detroit banner with tiger head superimposed is at bottom. There are 15 in the set. Presented here is starting pitcher, George Mullin, who led the American League in victories and winning percentage in 1909 along with league leading totals for games started, complete games and innings pitched in 1905 during his time with Detroit from 1902-13. Has back paper w/some age spotting. Small trace of surface wear, mostly only seen under magnification. Still glossy, VF.
