Item Description
10-5/8x15-7/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by Curt Swan (1920-1996), w/inks by Bob Oksner (1916-2007). Art is from same issue as previous lot and art from story page 14 features six panels, w/first panel featuring three scenes, showing Superman pulling train, saving building from collapse and saving ship from iceberg. Upon completion of these tasks, Superman arrives at Jimmy Olsen's apartment, where Jimmy informs him of Solarman's attack on Metropolis. Superman flies off w/a tear in his eye, feeling overwhelmed. Superman is pictured in all panels; three times in first panel alone. Top margin has stamped title and inked issue/page numbers and publication month. Back has DC copyright stamp and some inking. Swan has signed last panel in black felt tip pen. Second and third panels have partial text strip replacement w/white tape on reverse. Scattered handling wear/aging w/strip of tape staining at top/bottom center margin. Art remains clean and Exc.
