Item Description
7-3/8x19.5" Craftint artboard has three panel original art for strip No. 8075 from Nov. 4, 1964. Middle panel has NPP copyright strip. Art by Wayne Boring (1905-1987), a comic book artist best known for his work on Superman from the late 1940s to the 1960s. Art did not originally feature Superman, instead focusing on trio of bizarre-looking bank robbers. Boring would sell his original art for these daily strips, personally adding remarqued drawings of Superman on the art, as is the case here, w/Superman flying across top of middle and last panel. This was achieved by Boring using correctional fluid to cover a portion of the original art and adding a pen and ink image of Superman. Boring has added hand-lettered text below art that reads "Superman Added To This Daily Strip By Wayne Boring - Pompano Beach - '82." Boring has boldly signed again at lower right, adding "'85" date. Artboard has some lt. handling wear and aging to tint areas but is o/w VF/Exc.
