Item Description
From same issue as previous lot, includes original pen and ink art for complete single page story "The Eating Machine," which was the final story in the issue and shows Sugar and Spike mistaking a vacuum as "eating" and thinking they are helping by dumping food and trash on the floor to "feed" it. They end the page in time-out. Art is by Sheldon Mayer (1917-1991), who created, wrote and drew Sugar And Spike. Mayer has signed first panel, adding his initials to last panel. Art is on 12-5/8x21-1/8"artboard and features five panels. Printed title stat pasted at top w/inked month of publication and issue/page number. Artboard has Comics Code Authority inkstamp on front at bottom left. Four small spots of staining to artboard; two below art, one at upper right margin and one at top right in first panel.  Art o/w remains clean and VF overall. Great comical example of Sugar And Spike original art.
