Item Description
22x28-3/8" on cardboard. Promoting a "Top 10 Rhythm & Blues Review" on Sept. 27 concert at the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, TN featuring Faye Adams, The Clovers, Bo Diddley, Big Joe Turner, Bill Doggett, The Charms, Charlie and Ray, the Paul Williams Big Band, The Five Keys, Etta James and The Peaches, Al Jackson and Gene & Eunice. Suffice it to say an overloaded lineup of the era's hitmakers. Fay Adams held the top spot on the R&B charts for almost four months w/the pair of songs listed on this poster, The Clovers were on a run w/15 consecutive singles hitting the top 10. To think that Bo Diddley, an icon of early rock 'n' roll isn't even given a picture despite his titular #1 hit single being listed along w/ its B-side, the still influential "I'm A Man". It should be noted that this concert took place one year after Etta James started her long career. Margin toning affecting top edge of text, overall scattered faint age and light handling wear. VF. Superb graphics and striking color combined w/important figures make this an outstanding display piece.
