Item Description
15-1/8x22-1/8" artboard w/pen and ink original art for June 30, 1957 Sunday page by longtime Archie comics and comic strip artist Bob Montana (1920-1975). Sunday page features total of 12 panels, including title panel w/aged/glue stained title stat paste-over. Story shows Archie and Jughead bringing home "A Genuine Funkenburg" automobile that they found abandoned in the woods. Archie's father is distressed by the state of the car and calls for a wrecker to pick it up. When the wrecker arrives, Mr. Andrews is shocked to learn the true value of the wreck. Archie appears in five panels, Jughead in two. Archie Comic Publications, Inc. copyright strip in ninth panel w/KFS distributor strip in tenth. Margins have some scattered notations w/printer registration labels at left/right. Back has pair of printer job inkstamps. Two text correction strips missing, revealing some glue staining. Pin holes at corners w/scattered spots of staining along margin; some staining infringing into tops of third and fourth panels. Fine/VF overall.
