Item Description
16.25x19x27.5" full color photo box. No. 5405. The Omnibot 2000 is a programmable memory toy robot manufactured by Tomy in 1984 and was the highest end robot in the line. The initial Omnibot was announced with expectations of restoring popular interest in robots, at a time when it was becoming obvious that robots with advanced AI such as R2-D2 were still a long way away. This is a more advanced version of the Omnibot (see next lot). With the success of the Omnibots, the Omnibot range quickly expanded. After the video game crash of 1983 and its debilitating effect on the home electronics industry, the Omnibot line faded away but it was revived in the early 2000s. This model features a wireless remote control, built in tape deck, alarm clock, service tray and rechargeable power cell. It walks, talks and can carry objects. Includes worn original shipping box. VG. Inner box has lt. aging/wear. Was not sealed from factory but contents show no signs of aging/wear. Untested. Box is Exc. Contents are Exc.
