Item Description
Lot offers original art for complete issue of Sabrina The Teenage Witch #7, published by Archie Comics Nov. 1997. Lot includes cover (w/photostat image of Melissa Joan Hart as the TV version of Sabrina pasted on attached vellum overlay) and 22 pages of pen and ink original art by Dan DeCarlo. Each is on 11.5x17.5" artboard. Tongue-in-cheek cover features Sabrina making sandwiches as her boyfriend watches TV (which features photo stat image of Hart in witch's hat), commenting how unbelievable a TV show about a Teenage Witch is. Issue features three of four stories - Sculpture Switch Part 1 and 2, Two Timing and Mr. Hoagland's Opus. Sculpture Switch sees Aunt Hilda switch Sabrina's sculpture in the student art fair w/a sculpture done by Michelangelo in 1502, resulting in time travel hijinks. Two Timing sees Salem offer a spell to create a Sabrina twin in order to date both the school quarterback and Harvey. Mr. Hoagland's Opus features Sabrina using magic to secure her place on the school's band to get closer to a boy. All artboards have pin holes/staple holes across top margin edges. Missing only Rude Awakening single-page story. Cover has 1.5x4" long spot of staining at upper right, partially affecting overlay. Each story has "Sabrina" title/logo stat pasted at top left. Fine overall. 11 story pages have some corresponding staining along upper right, ranging from very minor to somewhat noticeable. Only one page has stain extending into art area, and only in a minor fashion. First page of Sculpture Switch has 3/8x.5" piece missing at top edge from staple pull. Some tape secures publishing indicia strip at bottom. Fine/VF overall. Some scattered margin notations. Each page has printed title/issue number strip at top margin along w/inked page numbers. Archie copyright inkstamp on back of each page artboard. Art remains clean and VF to Exc.
