7x10". This set of 11 player photos along w/two team images was issued as a post-World Series weekly supplement by the Sporting News in 1926. Player name and team are printed at bottom with "Sporting News" notation and date appearing in the upper left-hand corner. Team photos were done in a larger 10x14.25" format. By far, the biggest name from this series was none other than the Bambino himself, Babe Ruth, which is the supplement being offered here. The Babe began his career as a starting left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox in 1914 and spent the next six seasons there before joining the New York Yankees prior to the start of the 1920 season. The rest is history as Ruth would go on to set the all-time single season and career home run records, which both stood for decades. Moderate handling wear, area of staining at lower left but image remains strong and bold. PSA census indicates that only 11 examples of this supplement have ever been graded by PSA w/only four graded higher than the offered specimen.
