Item Description
The 1925 series of Exhibits contains 128 unnumbered cards, each measuring 3-3/8x5-3/8". The player's name, position and team along with a line reading "Made In U.S.A." are printed in a small box in a lower corner of the card. The Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago was the issuer of these cards, which were sold in penny arcade vending machines of the era. Card backs were blank. Ty Cobb has held the #1 spot in MLB history for nearly a century as the all-time career batting average leader with a .366 mark and his all-time record of 4,191 base hits was not eclipsed until 1985 when Pete Rose surpassed his total on the way to a record 4,256 career base hits. Cobb was one of five inaugural members of the first National Baseball Hall of Fame class of 1936. Front of card remains fairly clean and has sharp image. PSA census indicates that only 19 examples of this card have ever been graded by PSA. A key card in the set.
