Item Description
From same series as previous lots. Johnny Evers was part of the historic Chicago Cubs double play combo of Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance with all three being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946. Germany Schaefer (misspelled Shaefer on the front of the postcard) spent the best seasons of his 15 year MLB career w/the Detroit Tigers from 1905-09, helping the Tigers to three consecutive AL pennants from 1907-09. The lower grade is largely due to a 1" dia. spot on the back center with some staining and surface paper loss. However, back remains unused. Front has tiny trace of corner tip/margin wear but eye appeal greatly exceeds the PSA grade and with no significant defects seen to the naked eye. Front remains bright and clean with sharp image. PSA census indicates a total of only seven of these cards ever graded by PSA. Recently graded and fresh to the market.
