Item Description
19x27.5" artboard has had 14 individual panels attached along w/aged title stat. Art is by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould (1900-1985) and was for Oct. 30, 1960 Sunday page. Art shows Dick Tracy, Sam Catchem and Chief Patton observing an unexpected sight - "The Kid With The Beard," an abandoned infant that sports a beard! After a medical examination and footprinting the story switches to the exploits of criminals Ogden and Spots, who have tracked down Burpie Upp and her daughter Fresh, who were the ones who abandoned the baby. Second panel features "Crimestoppers Textbook" tip regarding police officers carrying small photos of wanted criminals. Dick Tracy appears in three panels, Ogden appears in five panels while Spots appears in six. Second to last panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Gould has signed and dated last panel. Top left margin has large date written in black marker. Eleventh panel has pasted text correction strip which has aged. Vertical fold at center, between and not affecting attached art panels, which show some lt. scattered aging/dust soiling. First panel has scattered glue staining to title stat. Art o/w remains clean and VF/Exc.
