Item Description
In 1958 J.H. Miller Mfg. Co. issued a series of 18 plastic figures depicting strange and unusual space creatures, marketing them as "Earth Invaders." Ranging in size from 2.25" to 4.75" tall, each has raised name on base or on the figure itself. This lot of 14 comprises 11 of the 18, including Mercury, Mars (two different color varieties), Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, two examples of the "Moon Man" figure (which was produced in two different varieties; both offered here are same variety), North Star, Big Dipper, Orion, Nebula, Betelguese and final figure is of a one-eyed, one-horned flying "Purple People Eater" (complete w/music note held in its hand) produced to capitalize on the novelty song which was #1 for six weeks in 1958. Missing are Jupiter, Venus, Neptune, Milky Way and Ceres. All of the figures are quite interesting but some of the standouts include Nebula which is a two-headed creature, Betelguese who is shown exiting his rocket ship and holding a ray gun, Mercury which is a two-headed robot, Pluto which is a dragon-like creature and Uranus, which is a giant w/disproportionate body holding club. All have different colored painted accents. Pluto is missing tip of tail, Saturn is missing tip of rifle and both are Fine/VF overall. Rest are complete and shows just some small scattered traces of paint wear to accents but all largely remains. VF to Exc. Rare to find this many all at once.
