Item Description
Lot of three pencil original art engineering drawings for Kenner's 1979 R2-D2 12" series action figures. Each is on 14x17" layout bond paper and showing front, top and right views of the figure. Sheets have some scattered measurements and one has handwritten note in pencil. During the early stages of production, engineers would work out the scale/dimensions for each figure, which would then be sent to a draftsman to create the renderings w/input from the designer. The final drawings (such as that offered here) would then have copies made for use by the various departments who worked on the project. Rolled w/some lt. handling, corner tip/edge wear (including 1.25" tear at top right on front view sheet), but art remains clean and Exc. Rare and early Kenner Star Wars pre-production original art.
