Item Description
Heavy 18x25-1/8" illustration board features mixed media original art recreation of title splash page from Captain America Comics #7, published by Timely, Oct. 1941. Art is by Captain America co-creator Joe Simon (1913-2011), recreating Simon and Jack Kirby's published art, showing The Red Skull looming over Captain America and Bucky as he plays kazoo-like instrument to kill men in foreground. Large hand-lettered/colored "Captain America And The Red Skull" title across top. Art differs slightly in coloration, w/main differences being the color of Red Skull's outfit and hand. There is also additional detail to Red Skull's face (or lack thereof). Paste-over text stat circle at lower left. Margins show some scattered soiling but art remains clean aside from some glue staining around text paste-over. Would make for Exc. display if matted and framed.
