Item Description
11-7/8x15" wooden plaque has acrylic sheet covering worn reading copy of Flash #123 (DC Comics, Sept. 1961) w/engraved plaque below it reading "In Sincere Appreciation And Recognition For 50 Years Of Dedication To The Comic Book Industry - Julius Schwartz 'The Father Of The Silver Age' - July 2, 1993 ...... 18th Chicago Comicon - Presented By Hero Illustrated." Julius "Julie" Schwartz (1915-2004), was best-known as a longtime editor at DC Comics, where at various times he was primary editor over the company's flagship superheroes, Superman and Batman. Plaque shows some lt. scattered wear and is Fine/VF overall. The comic itself - the popular "Flash Of Two Worlds" issue - has "S" inkstamp on cover and shows obvious spine wear, w/splits, tears and tape repairs. Just comes along as part of display.
